CHAPTER TEN: FREEDOM COMES IN MANY FORMS
BASTIAN
The breeze wasnât enough to sate the heat, but the granitas were on fucking point, which meant that I no longer cared. Well, that and the fact that I had Ava curled up in the lounger next to me, reading, her gaze fixed to her kindle as she consumed her smutty literature. As far as I could ascertain, she was reading some wild story about a college girl and the three guys railing her, and while Iâd never be okay sharing her - never tolerate someone else touching her, it had given me a few ideas on how to fill both her pussy and her ass simultaneously. I just needed to get her in the mood to play. The ocean views made for a decent backdrop, and I was loath to admit that Ashâs choice in music wasnât entirely shit. Normally, he favored EDM with heavy bass undertones, and, honestly, I could only listen to that shit for so long before pulling my fucking hair out. Graeme sat on the beach, sulking and surly, but I wasn't one to judge - not when I could be a righteous asshole myself. Jeffâs death had fucked us all up in our own way.
And lying in a lounger next to my girl was Grace. She wore a tiny, light pink bikini that was obscene - it barely covered anything, but no one seemed bothered by it, so I wasnât about to voice my opinion. She arched back beneath the sun, as if that small movement might be able to bring her closer to the heat somehow. It was an obscenely erotic gesture - one that had Graeme turning his back towards her in a huff, while Asher quietly offered her a refill of her drink. Ava seemed oblivious - or perhaps she was just ignoring the weird fucking dynamic that those three had. By contrast, she wore a black bikini that covered far more skin than Graceâs but was just as sinful. The irrational part of me wanted to cover her with a blanket and cart her back home, but, instead, I forced myself to relax - forced the tension in my forearms to dissipate while I simply breathed her in. She was here - she was mine - and we were going to kill Cheryl and my father.
Ava would only be involved in the tracking and locating of Cheryl, while I would be the one to end her. Iâd bloodied my hands enough times that I was dripping in sin - there was no need for Ava to join me. If anything, I was glad to be able to use my skills on protecting her and securing our future. I hadnât breathed a word of our plans to Graeme or Asher - didnât want them complicit in my dealings in case we needed to lean on them for their legal expertise. Between the two of them, they had been trained in the art of law from
